THIS IS THE WOMEN’S WORLD

The Women’s World appeared in the LFF programme for the 100th anniversary of Polish women obtaining civil rights. It was supposed to draw attention to the problems that women from all around the world have to face every day. Their situation is not getting better and there are still many films being made about it. That is why we continue to select productions that bring up women’s problems, that for some are a foreign matter, and the everyday life for others.

 

Teratoma, dir. Jeong-won Byun (Republic of Korea) 2022, 25’, 15+
Eun-il is 28 years old. There is a teratoma in her ovary with eyes, teeth and hair. And if that wasn’t enough, it starts talking to her… Polish premiere.

Based on the short story by Nancy Jo Cullen about Edina who cannot come to terms with the breakup of her long-term relationship. During a hair removal treatment she gets in touch with her repressed memories, and a conversation with an eloquent beautician has an unexpected result. Film presented at Sarajevo IFF. Sex Relish (A Solo Orgasm), dir. Ananda Safo (France) 2021, 12’, 18+
During the pandemic, our sexuality has been put to the test. Women from all walks of life share their stories about fulfilling their desires in solitude. Film presented at Go Short ISFF. Polish premiere.
