LUBLIN MEDIA MEETINGS: THE YOUTH VS. FESTIVALS AND THE FUTURE OF THE INDUSTRY

A panel devoted to the involvement of young filmmakers and organizers in film festivals. The aim of the meeting is to diagnose the current state of cinema with the help of teenage filmmakers, the influence of young people on the shape of film events and to identify the needs and expectations of future festival audiences who are just entering adulthood. The meeting is one of the stages in order to prepare for the 2023 edition of the festival, in which Lublin will become the European Capital of Youth. The panel will be conducted by Maciej Misztal, director of the Lublin Film Festival
Guests:
Magdalena Górniak – Artistic director of the reAKCJA! She deals with film as a hobby, her greatest passion is theater and literature. Over the years, she was actively involved in the Erato Musical School in Poznań, thanks to which she had the opportunity to appear in many theater performances. She studies International Relations at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. In her free time, she watches movies, reads, travels, dances and writes her own literary works and scripts. She cannot imagine living alone – she enjoys cooperation and spending time with other people and working with children the most.
Jakub Jaskóła – Director of the Polish Youth Film Festival reAKCJA! A student of the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School in Katowice. He has been closely associated with the video industry for 5 years. He is associated with the production of commercials and music videos, as well as multi-camera implementation of live broadcasts. Certified drone operator. He has been passionate about photography and film since childhood. Mountain and Formula 1 lover.
Antek Michalak – has been making films since high school, when he co-founded the amateur film group AAAAA films. He specializes in absurd comedies and is currently working on another one for his bachelor’s degree in Media Production at UMCS. His latest films were awarded with the Best Feature Award at the KLAPS Amateur Films Competition in Bydgoszcz (“Drugi”) and the 2nd award in the feature category at the 16th One-Minute Film Festival in Gdańsk (“Umęczony ludu!”).
Maja Radecka – a graduate of the 3rd “Unia Lubelska” High School in Lublin, where she organized the Polish Youth Short Film Festival Unia Film Festival. She is currently working at the Charlie Cinema in Łódź. She is involved in many film initiatives.
Zuzanna Ślusarczyk – a student of the Jan Cybis State Art Training Institution. The author of the animated film „Wewnętrzna smoła” was awarded in the Amateur Films Competition at the Opolskie Lamy Film Festival.
The event will be broadcast live on Lublin Film Festival facebook page. The event will be translated into Polish sign language.
