Batory is a boy in a girl’s body. We meet him when he is serving a prison sentence in the Warszawa-Grochów Detention Center for frequent travel by city train without a valid ticket and beating his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend. Batory shows us around the world – a world made up of bars and closed rooms. Audience Award at Przeźrocza FF.

 

How I Beat Glue and Bronze, dir. Vladimir Vulević (Serbia) 2020, 31’, 16+
Mihajlo is a worker in the factory of a neglected industrial town. We hear the people from his closest surrounding give testimonies about his life. What they don’t know is that Mihajlo is obsessively stealing tools from the factory and suffering from lost love. Film presented at e.g. Locarno IFF. Polish premiere.

 

Synthol, dir. Piotr Trojan (Poland) 2021, 24’, 15+ 
Eryk is a vlogger documenting his preparations for the bodybuilding debut. He is helped by his overprotective mother. Before the competition, Eryk meets Mona. As they go out on a date, the online world clashes with reality. Film awarded at Film and Art Festival “Dwa Brzegi”.

A young filmmaker meets an ex-convict on Vancouver Street and makes a film about him. A night walk with a criminal results in an unusual relationship. Film inspired by cinéma-vérité. Film awarded at e.g. Boston Short Film Festival.

 

A Fairy Tale, dir. Zoé Arene (Belgium) 2021, 21’, 18+
Apprentice filmmaker, Juan makes a documentary portrait of Coco, a thirty-something-year-old marginal. The film is quickly called into question when Juan discovers that Coco thinks she’s a fairy. Film presented at e.g. PÖFF Shorts.
