We know the winners of the LFF 2019!

Short and feature films have been awarded on 30th November during the Festival’s gala.
The Jury: Błażej Hrapkowicz, Kaja Klimek i Piotr Kotowski awarded the following films with Golden Anteaters:

In the competition Little Anteaters the film
Cat Lake City, dir. Antje Heyn (Germany) 2019, 7’
For charming and humorous praise of the sense of community. And the kitty.

In the competition Masters of Films about Children
Lola the Living Potato, dir. Leonid Shmelkov (Russian Federation) 2018, 17’
For simplicity and intuition in telling a story about a difficult childhood experience.

In the competition Masters of Animations the film
Acid Rain, dir. Tomek Popakul (Poland) 2018, 26’
For unique visual language, thanks to which a seemingly known story gains a completely new dimension and depth.

In the competition Masters of Observation the film
Prisoner of Society, dir. Rati Tsiteladze (Georgia) 2018, 16’
For a moving portrait of a woman trapped in her own life.

In the competition Masters of Offbeat Films the film
Operation Jane Walk, dir. Leonhard Müllner, Robin Klengel (Austria) 2018, 16’
For effective concept and creative combination of the language of film and video game.

In the competition Masters of Idea the film
Excuse Me, I’m Looking for the Ping-Pong Room and My Girlfriend, dir. Bernhard Wenger (Austria, Germany) 2018, 23’
For narrative efficiency, subtle humour and convincing emotional journey of the main character.

In the competition Masters of Emotions the film
Her name was, dir. Helena Dalemans (Belgium) 2018, 18’
For intricate usage of melodrama conventions and moving appeal for the right to love regardless of age.

In the competition Masters of Theme the film
Counterfeit Kunkoo, dir. Reema Sengupta (India) 2017, 15’
For a portrait of a brave heroine who fights with an oppressive system.

The Jury decided to give the Grand Prix of Feature Films Competitions – 4 000 PLN to the film
Fugue, dir. Agnieszka Smoczyńska (Poland) 2018, 117’
For mature and artistically fulfilled story about a woman who seeks her own identity.

The Jury decided to give the Grand Prix of Short Films Competitions – 4 000 PLN to the film

The Krzysztof Szot Award went to
Of Not Such Great Importance, dir. Benjamin Deboosere (Belgium) 2019, 20’

Organisers Special Mention went to
7 Billion Years Before the End of the World, dir. Jānis Ābele (Latvia, France) 2018, 80’
For particularly sensitive and original vision of ambivalence in the mutual relations of current young people.

The Audience Award went to
Skin, dir. Guy Nattiv (USA) 2918, 21′
