We know the winners of the LFF 2023!

On November 25th we announced the winners of LFF 2023.

Award: Death of the Gods, dir. Leto Stojanovic Meade
for a film that proves that you can create artistically multivalent cinema from the simplest elements of our surrounding world

Special Mention: About the Beginnings, dir. Karolina Gołębiowska
for an inventive and effective story that becomes a bridge between childhood and adulthood

FOCUS: ANIMATION
Award: Slow Light, dir. Kijek / Adamski
for a noble form that allows sighted people to get to know the world of the blind people

Special Mention: Amok, dir. Balázs Turai
for one hell of a ride and an uncompromising approach to creating a unique world

FOCUS: DOCUMENT
Award: The Rocking Horses, dir. Marcin Lesisz
for a beautiful story about passion, the difficulties of family relationships and for a tender look at the heroine

FOCUS: EXPERIMENT
Award: Tanaka’s Diary, dir. Filip Jacobson
for a film in which authentic film footage becomes a starting point for an experiment and for telling a touching travel story

FOCUS: IDEA
Award: Lucienne in a World Without Solitude, dir. Geordy Couturiau
for the incredible world-creating work that shakes us out of our understanding of reality and interpersonal relationships

FOCUS: EMOTIONS
Award: Please Hold the Line, dir. Tan Ce Ding
for the portrait of a heroine faced with difficult dilemmas that cannot be resolved in a moral way

FOCUS: THEME
Award: Of Kisses and Capes, dir. Elena Weiss
for empathetic approach to a socially important topic and skillfull construction of the world of the young characters’ emotions

FOCUS: STORYTELLING
Financial award in the amount of 4000 PLN
Award: The First Two, dir. Balázs Szövényi-Lux
for a love story that is universal in every geographical location, as well as finding a form that emotionally engages the viewer until the last minute of the screening

Special Mention: Roving Woman, dir. Michał Chmielewski
for an atmospheric road movie about overcoming loneliness and finding a direction in life

SHORT FILM COMPETITIONS GRAND PRIX
Financial award in the amount of 4000 PLN
Tanaka’s Diary, dir. Filip Jacobson

for an original usage of the found footage technique, which does not obscure the topic, but on the contrary, it helps to tell a multi-threaded story about the work of memory and cultural clash in the form of an audiovisual diary
