Ingrid lives in a small village in eastern Slovakia. She looks for various ways to earn money to support herself and her daughter. For example, she decides to become a foster mother to a young Roma girl, counting on social welfare funds.

The parents of a child star are in the process of getting a divorce. The mother, an unfulfilled actress, subjects her daughter to constant pressure. One day, the father, also an actor, takes the child to the amateur theater he runs.
