LUBLIN MEDIA MEETINGS: CITY PLACEMENT – HOW TO CAPTURE THE POTENTIAL OF CITYSCAPE IN A MOVIE

Over the years, more and more often the authorities of Polish cities perceive cooperation with the film industry as an opportunity for the development of tourism. City placement has become a widely known term and an effective tool to highlight the charm and beauty of a town and to raise funds for the production of a movie or series at the same time. The success of each tool, however, is determined by its efficiency in use. During the panel of the 16th Lublin Film Festival, experts will discuss city placement, new forms developing that idea, but also opportunities and difficulties related to it.
Guests:
Maciej Gil – cinema historian, history researcher and animator of film culture, journalist, editor, speaker, educator, juror and selector. The organizer of numerous film events both in Poland and abroad for two decades, including his original Kinobus project devoted to the history of cinemas and the Krakow Film Walks (guided tours) . He travels eagerly to places associated with film art. Received the Awards of the Polish Film Institute three times and once the Award of the Studio Cinemas Association. Coordinator of the film program, curator of the “Staromiejskie invites” series and co-author of the historical exhibition at the Old Theater in Lublin.
Natalia Grzegorzek – Chairwoman of Koskino Sp. z o.o. Producer of feature films such as „Camper”, „A Coach’s Daughter” and „My Wonderful life” dir. Łukasz Grzegorzek. Polish producer of “Winter Flies” dir. Olmo Omerzu – Czech Oscar Nominee in 2018 and winner of six Czech Lion Awards, including one for the best feature film. Chairwoman of Producers Guild of Poland since 2021. Polish Producers Alliance member. Expert in Polish Film Institute.
Grzegorz Linkowski – Chairman of Lubelski Fundusz Filmowy, thanks to whom many films and series such as „Carte Blanche”, „Panie Dulskie”, „VOLTA”, „War girls” and „1983” were realized. Director, screenwriter and producer of award-winning documentaries. The originator and director of the 10th edition of the
International Days of Documentary Cinema “European Point of Divergence/Convergence”. An animator of many artistic, socio-cultural and multicultural projects.
The event is co-created by the General Partner of the festival – Polish Tourism Organisation.
Free entry. The event will be translated into Polish sign language.
