FOCUS: STORYTELLING – Young Wild Boar, A Childless Village
Focus: Storytelling is a competition of mid-length and full-length feature productions with a clearly original creative approach, looking for original forms of narration. Both young and experienced filmmakers will compete for the prize. This year, 9 films from 8 countries will take part in the competition.
Young Wild Boar, dir. Miguel Sánchez García (Spain) 2022, 39’, 18+
Martín & Germán are two brothers going through a desperate financial situation. They decide to visit a wealthy family man who owes them money for construction work they completed in their hometown. This time they will not leave with empty hands. International premiere.
A Childless Village, dir. Reza Jamali (Iran) 2022, 82’, 13+
Many years ago, an old filmmaker named Kazem made a film on the sterility of the women villagers. However, in order to protect their dignity, the women stole the footage and burnt it. After two decades, it turned out that it was the men that were infertile. With the help of his assistant, Kazem tries to record some interviews to unfold the truth. Film presented at PÖFF. Polish premiere.
