We know the winners of the LFF 2018!

Short and feature films have been awarded on 10th November during the Festival’s gala.
The Jury: Piotr Kotowski, Michał J. Zabłocki, Bartosz Żurawiecki and Kaja Klimek awarded the following films with Golden Anteaters:

In the competition Little Anteaters the film
Sheep Tricks, dir. Sylvia Unglaub (Germany) 2017, 5’
for a funny and accessible ecology lesson for the little ones

In the competition Masters of Animations the film
Nothing Happens, dir. Michelle Kranot, Uri Kranot (Denmark) 2017, 12’
for evocative atmosphere and provocative questions about the mystery of fate

In the competition Masters of Observation the film
Sisters, dir. Michał Hytroś (Polska) 2017, 19’
for unwavering optimism and approaching each day with humility

In the competition Masters of Offbeat Films the film
M.A.M.O.N. (Monitor Against Mexicans Over Nationwide), dir. Alejandro Damiani (Uruguay) 2016, 6’
for valuable satire on modern world wanna-be dictators

In the competition Masters of Genre the film
Kapitalistis, dir. Pablo Muñoz Gómez (Belgium, France) 2017, 14’
for ironic exhibition of the modern world capitalism fetishes

In the competition Masters of Emotions the film
Last Call, dir. Hajni Kis (Hungary) 2018, 27’
for reminding us that it is never to late for a life balance check and for the main protagonist’s part

In the competition Masters of Theme the film
Aaba, dir. Amar Kaushik (India) 2016, 22’
for an original take on the subject of death and at the same time a story full of humour and lyricism

The Jury decided to give the Grand Prix of Feature Films Competitions – 5 000 PLN to the film
Pomegranate Orchard, dir. Ilgar Najaf (Azerbaijan) 2017, 90’
for a poignant portraiture of a traditional family’s breaking apart under pressure of the sociological and cultural changes

Honorary Award of Lublin Film Festival for a groundbreaking film form fot the film
A Note From The Uprising” dir. Tomasz Dobosz

The Krzysztof Szot Award went to
Schoolyard Blues, dir. Maria Eriksson-Hecht (Sweden) 2017, 17’
For an in-depth analysis of the psychology of children’s heroes at a crucial moment and for masterful work with young actors.

Organisers Special Mention went to
A Heart of Love, dir. Łukasz Ronduda (Poland) 2017, 78’
For crossing borders in combining various audiovisual works, which paradoxically turns out to be an ideal means to tell about difficult male-female relationships.

The Audience Award went to
Happiness, dir. Maciej Buchwald (Poland)
