Lublin Film Festival is an international celebration of cinema and an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest films of emerging stars of world cinematography. LFF All Year Round screenings are replay of festival’s hits which revolve around the same subject matter or are similar in form. The films included in this screening come from the LFF 2018 and 2016 programs.
The March screening takes us to a world where it is difficult to survive without the help of our neighbors, but at the same time the characters take the exam of their attitudes towards them…

1. The Chicken, dir. Una Gunjak (Croatia), 2016, 15’
As a present for her 6th birthday, Selma gets a live chicken. When she realises the animal is going to be killed to feed the family, she decides to save it and set it free. While trying to bring back the missing chicken, Selma’s mum becomes the target of a sniper shoot. It’s Sarajevo, year running 1993. Film awarded with European Film Award and at festivals in Palm Springs, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Golden Anteater in the competition Masters of Theme at Golden Anteaters 2016.
2. Sweet Home Czyżewo, dir. Jakub Radej (Poland) 2017, 28’
A day in the life of a man who, after a 3-year-long economical migration in the US, comes back to his hometown to set up a business – the deal of his life. Will he manage to repair his relationship with Krysia, his old flame? Film awarded at KFDF „Młodzi i film”.
3. Good Day, dir. Dasha Charusha (Russian Federation) 2018, 18’
Abdul is a Moscow taxi driver. One day a pregnant woman, Luna, enters his car. When they are stuck in a traffic jam, she starts to give birth. This situation will require some extraordinary measures.
4. A Siege, dir. István Kovács (Hungary) 2018, 23’
A lonely woman in war-torn Sarajevo embarks on a journey to find water and neither her neighbours nor sniper fire can stop her. Student Academy Award nominee.
5. Final Review, dir. Jonathan Herzberg (Netherlands) 2017, 8’
Successful creative director of an advertising agency dies. He finds out the afterlife consists only of one last performance review.
