DESCRIPTION:Focus: Theme is a competition in which we pay special attention to the content of the film and the way in which the authors talk about the problems they present in their films. Short films very quickly respond to current trends and phenomena, and often pave new paths for full-lengths. In this competition can be found many themes that trigger both local and global discussions. We hope that the films we have selected will help us understand different points of view on a complicated reality.\n \nGrass on Your Class, dir. Claire Barrault (France) 2023, 24’, 16+\nA French teacher convenes a disciplinary committee to decide on the future of one of her students. The woman wants to judge the boy fairly, but realizes that the school she works in is in serious trouble.\nPolish premiere.\n \nMind the Gap, dir. Frédéric Bélier-Garcia (France) 2024, 21’, 15+\nAfter retiring, Alain wants to fill his free time and earn some extra money. He auditions as an extra for Verdi’s “Macbeth” and gets the role of King Duncan.\nFilm presented at the Clermont-Ferrand IFF. Polish premiere.\n \n\nUnfamiliar Skin, dir. Gustavo Milan (Brazil) 2023, 17’, 15+\nDuring Easter, a twelve-year-old boy notices changes in his body. He begins to understand that his relationship with his mother will change forever.\nFilm awarded at the Huesca IFFl. Polish premiere.\n \n\nA Short Trip, dir.  Erenik Beqiri (Albania) 2023, 17’, 16+\nKlodi and Mira, a young Albanian couple, want to obtain French citizenship. They decide to pay a Frenchman to marry the woman and divorce her after 5 years. They already have the money. Now they have to choose the right candidate.\nFilm awarded at e.g. Venice IFF. Polish premiere.\n
