The Dybbuk is one of the most famous Polish pre-war movies in the world. After leaving Poland, Waszyński assisted Orson Wells while making Othello, and took part in production of such films as: The Barefoot Contessa by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and The Fall of the Roman Empire by Anthony Mann. We will recall his achievements as a part of the Polish Legends series. \nThe Prince and the Dybbuk, dir. Elwira Niewiera, Piotr Rosołowski (Poland, Germany) 2017, 80’ \nWho was Moshe Michał Waszyński? Was he a golden boy of cinema, a cunning fraud or a man who couldn’t distinguish the illusion of film from reality? A cinematic journey on the trail of human chameleon, who in flight from the spirit of intolerance continually changed his identity, rejecting his Jewish origins and hiding homosexuality. \nFilm awarded at Venice Film Festival. Polish Film Award for Best Documentary.\nAfter the screening, at approx. 18:25, there will be an online meeting with the directors of the film, Elwira Niewiera and Piotr Rosołowski. The broadcast will be available on the festival’s Facebook profile.\nWe finish issuing tickets 30 minutes before the screening or when there are no more left.\n
