Marek Piestrak (Poland, 1987), 90’, 15+\nOriginal narration: Łona\n \nThe Korelacje Festival has brought the film back in a new form – with an original narration by Łona (Adam Zieliński). As he himself says: “It’s the most soaring act of adventure cinema ever made in the former Eastern Bloc countries.”\n \nLao-Vietnamese border, November 1954. A helicopter, shot by guerilla fire, lands on the edge of the jungle. The pilot, Bernard Traven, searching for water, stumbles upon a Buddhist temple, from which he steals a sacred relic. The monk casts a curse… Sorbonne, thirty years later. Jan Tarnas, a specialist in ancient Thai manuscripts, is giving a lecture. Unexpectedly, Traven appears, asking him to decipher a manuscript taken from the relic. While opening it in the lab, the lights suddenly go out and snakes appear.\nThe Korelacje Festival is an innovative event at the intersection of film art and accessibility culture, presenting Polish films in a new format — with narrators’ voices woven between the original dialogues. It is best known for the cult screening of Marek Piestrak’s “The Wolf” featuring an original narration by Dorota Masłowska. This year, Łona, Matylda Damięcka, Maciej Kurowicki, Sylwia Chutnik, Małgorzata Lebda, and Bartosz Kędzierski have written and recorded their own narrations for Polish films. Their chosen works, enriched with literary commentary, will be presented during the 2nd edition of the Korelacje Festival at the DCF cinema in Wrocław. The event celebrates accessible cinema: 11 screenings, including 6 film premieres with original narrations, as well as post-screening discussions.\n \nA film with an original narration is a kind of subjective guided tour through the film — an individual, free, and often emotional interpretation that allows audiences to see the film through the narrator’s eyes.\nThe festival is organized in Wrocław by Studio Kineskop and the Lower Silesia Film Center (DCF).\nEvent in Polish.\n
